Foam San Foaming Hand Sanitizer from Zep Inc. Kills Common Bacteria Found in Food Operations

Product Now Endorsed by the Green Restaurant Association

Zep Inc. offers Foam San, an alcohol-free, perfume-free foaming hand sanitizer ideal for use in food processing facilities and foodservice environments.  The quat-based hand sanitizer kills 99.9 percent of common bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus, E. coli, pseudomonas, salmonella and listeria in less than 15 seconds.

“Proper hand washing and sanitizing can effectively reduce the transmission of communicable diseases,” says Blaine Morton, director of marketing and business development, Food, Zep Inc.  “While hand washing stations may be placed in various locations in a processing plant, grocery store or restaurant, cross-contamination can still happen, and workers need a way to sanitize their hands when hand washing stations are not convenient.”

Dispensed as a rich foam that disappears and dries after being worked into the hands, Zep Foam San sanitizes hands without drying them, leaving skin feeling soft and smooth without the need for rinsing or wiping.

Zep Foam San meets USDA E-3 standards.  It is available in 500-ml pump bottles, 1-liter refills, and a new 2.5-liter bottle designed for use in Zep’s tough new Gladiator dispenser.  The 500-ml dispenser consistently meters out a 1.5ml shot and is ideal for use on countertops, desks, and workstations.  The Gladiator dispenser mounts easily on walls and is designed for areas that typically experience high usage or rough conditions.  The Gladiator typically dispenses more than 4,800 applications of thick, rich foam per bottle.

Zep Foam San is a member of the Zep GreenLink line of Environmentally Preferred Products.  It contains no butyl solvents, APE surfactants or phosphates and is endorsed by the Green Restaurant AssociationSM (www.dinegreen.com), a national, non-profit organization that provides services in research, consulting, education, marketing and community organizing.  The GRA utilizes a collaborative strategy that involves restaurants, manufacturers, vendors, grassroots organizations, government, media, and restaurant customers.  The GRA’s model provides a convenient way for all sectors of the restaurant industry, which represents 10 percent of the U.S. economy, to become more environmentally sustainable.
